It’s everyone’s favorite time of the week again! You know I’m talking about Friday! The day where you can finally kick back, relax and unwind from a long stressful week of either work or school. Here at Global Thrash Assault we (well me really) like to help you get the weekend started off right by pointing in you the direction of some killer thrash metal that’s available to download…FOR FREE!*

Shall we get started?

Kicking things off this week we have the New Jersey crossover thrashers, The Donner Party. Formed in 2009 these Garden State thrashers are virtually unknown however they may just be one of the best bands you’ve never heard off. Although the band is hardly a bleep on most people’s radar, The Donner Party have managed to release two albums, the first of which is available as a ‘name your price’ download on the band’s BandCamp Page. If fantastic riffs with a punk influence are your thing The Spawning is the album for you! Listen below and if you like what you hear you can download the album at this location!
Terrathorn call the Southampton section of the UK home. The self described “hardcore style party thrashers” give their Bay Area influences a modern day shake-up which really gives the band a unique, awesome and downright powerful sound! Terrathorn are currently working on new material but until its released the band is currently offering up five of their previously released tracks for free download via their SoundCloud Page. Listen below and if you like what you hear be sure to download the tracks here!
NEWS FLASH! The UK is full of awesome thrash metal bands, but I’m guessing a lot of you already knew that. Crypsis, who call Brighton home, are yet another example of this! Formed in 2009 this three piece has played various gigs throughout their homeland and in that time have managed to release not one but two fantastic albums. If you’re looking for some awesome blackened thrash with pummeling riffs look no further than 2010’s Choir for the Carrion and last year’s The World Rots Faster. Both albums are available as a free download on the band’s BandCamp Page. Get on it!
Sadly many great bands come and go. It’s a reality that fans of every genre of music must face and if I’m being totally honest, it sucks. This was the case with Australian thrasher’s Sabretung, who last year decided to call it quits. However before dismantling the band released three albums that feature some damn fine thrash metal. Sabretung’s first two releases, The Price Is Pain, and Conquest, are available as a ‘name your price’ download on the band’s BandCamp Page.
That’s it for this week, folks! Until next Friday bang your head and enjoy your weekend!

*Some bands offer their music for a “name your price” with no minimum to download. I implore you all to give what you can or what you think is fair to help support these bands however it’s your choice.
