UPDATE: Chaos Over The U.K.

In case you missed the announcement a few days ago Global Thrash Assault will be releasing a brand new compilation entirely dedicated to the U.K. thrash scene! Unlike Wreck Your Neck, Chaos Over The U.K. will be pressed on CD and as of right now will be limited to 1,000 copies. Although a track list has yet to be announced I figured I would give bands and fans a little up date on things.

For starters Chaos Over The U.K. will be free for the bands to join. I know some labels/magazines make bands pay to be featured on a compilation in order to cover the cost of manufacturing, however I find this morally wrong. In fact I would call it stealing. Bands pay enough recording their music, traveling to gigs and buying their equipment and that’s not even mentioning the amount they spent on lessons in order to get to the level of skill required to be in a band. Asking them to pay for a project of mine is wrong, I don’t see it any other way. I feel if I put a killer compilation together it will be a win win for everyone involved. The bands will get great exposure and Global Thrash Assault will continue to grow. It’s that simple.

Over the last few days I’ve spent my free time trying to figure out how to reward bands for taking part in this project. I’ve also been trying to figure out a way to deal with the outrageous international shipping rates here in the U.S. I’m happy to say I’ve figured it out. Each band that participates will receive 20 copies of Chaos Over The U.K. to sell on their own. The profits they make from the sales is theirs to keep in addition to the exposure from being featured on the compilation.

I’m going to do my best to make this compilation as special as possible and as killer as the U.K. thrash scene. I already have a few bands in mind but I’m looking for more. If you’re in a band or know someone who is in a U.K. thrash band please feel free to contact me. Let’s make this the best compilation the UK has ever seen!
