REVIEW: Injury- Unleash the Violence

There are so many great thrash metal bands from Italy, Collapse, Game Over, Devastator, National Suicide and that’s just naming a few, I haven’t even scratched the surface yet. Lately I’ve been listening to yet another great band from Italy, they’re called Injury and I’m warning you now this band might cause you some bodily harm. The band’s debut “Unleash the Violence” is a mammoth of a release, featuring 9 tracks and coming in at just over 40 minutes long, with this release this band proves that Injury are a force to be reckoned with.

“Unleash the Violence” is the kind of release many metal musicians dream about putting their name on. It’s the kind of album you just want to blast to the point your deaf neighbor is screaming for you to turn it down. Injury’s debut features some really aggressive drumming, brutal as fuck vocals and really killer riffs. In fact everything about this album is killer, from the time you hit play it feels like you have been thrown into battle and there are bullets whizzing by you and grenades are being hurled at you from all directions. There’s no escape and even if you could you wouldn’t want to, “Unleash the Violence” is that brutal and addictive. “Unleash the Violence” is as uncompromising as a tank full of hungry sharks that smell blood. It will rip you limb from limb in a brutal yet precise matter that will have you screaming in ecstasy before you scream for submission.

For as brutal as Injury is they never overdo things. The band has a nice balance of brutality and old school thrash metal precision. “Unleash the Violence” is an enjoyable listening experience through and through, that never over powers or bores the listener like some bands found in today’s metal scene tend to do. So do yourselves a favor and check out Injury from Italy and make sure you buy their debut “Unleash the Violence” it’s about the best thing you can do if you love great music.

Overall: 9/10
