I always get to shows early so I can see all the acts on the bill; I really enjoy seeing new and upcoming bands. Not too long ago I went to see the reunited Sanctuary and a few local acts at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City. I left the venue that night thinking two things, “Sanctuary were fucking awesome” and “who was the second band of the night? They were great.” Well I finally tracked that second band down. They are Sanitarius from Staten Island and trust me when I say they are fucking kick ass! Sanitarius are masters of their trade and are true professionals on the live stage. During the opening song the guitarist broke a string on his guitar and the band carried on without missing a beat while it was being repaired, which can’t be easy to do in front of a crowd of people. If you haven’t seen them yet the band has a show coming up on at Ollie’s Point in Long Island, New York on January 28th in support of Anvil. If you can make it I highly suggest you do so, because as mentioned earlier this band thrashes the live stage.
Sanitarius are progressive and have a very modern sound to them which is always nice to hear. The band knows a thing or two on how to write a song. Currently the band has a four track album for sale entitled “Eyes to the Soul” and it’s available for purchase here. It appears that the band is also working on their debut full length, which is something I’m really looking forward to. In the meantime however I highly recommend you check this band out and if you can, go see them on January 28th I promise you a good show.
