Everyone has their favorite bands and everyone has their own preference on what bands to listen to, and I’m always okay with that no matter what it is. You know, to each their own. This time however I’m going to be that guy and demand you all listen to the mighty Lich King. Why you ask? Because they’re the best band and they’re super cool that’s why.
In all seriousness though I’m a huge Lich King fan and have been since the year 2008, which was not long after the “Necromantic Maelstrom” release. Recently I was listening to an interview on the “Axis of Metal” blog with the bands vocalist. I have to say I was excited about some of the stuff that was talked about in regards to the bands plans. Although still in the early stages of most of these plans I really hope everything works out for them because this band really deserves to be mentioned with the elite of thrash metal. Since the year 2008 the band has gone on to release two other albums “Toxic Zombie Onslaught” and the fantastic “World Gone Dead.” If you haven’t checked out any three of the previously mentioned albums it’s in your best interest to do so. They’re all great, and when listening to all three albums in a row you can really hear how this band has grown. Unlike most bands who progress Lich King remained true to their roots without ever changing their sound, they’re still the band that I went ape shit over for in 2008. The band has a new album due out entitled “Born of the Bomb” and it should be released… sometime. I hope it’s sooner than later. But either way after hearing the two already released tracks off the album “CombatMosh” and “Wage Slave” I’m putting this album on my “Most Anticipated List.”
The band has a few dates coming up and they can be found here. If you’ve never seen this band live I highly recommend that you do. Two shows I’m looking forward to have got to be the Warbringer show they are playing on Monday March 12th at The Loft in Poughkeepsie, New York. The second is with D.R.I. which is taking place at the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts, on March 26th. I’m looking forward to seeing this band at both these dates and I would love to see as many people there as possible. If you can’t make these two shows and even if you can, you should definitely check the band out at the other dates they have scheduled, trust me it’s worth more than the price of admission.
